Machu Picchu by train 2 Days

DAY 1: CUSCO – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALIENTES

Our program starts with a pick up from your accommodation at 09:00 am. This schedule could change based on the train ticket to go to Aguas Calientes (The exact schedule will be confirmed at the time of the first payment of the tour, pre-pay) After picking up all the participants we will have a private transportation to the train station in Ollantaytambo, this tour lasts 01 hour and 30 minutes approximately. Here we will take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes, this is the last town before Machu Picchu. Here we will spend the night in a hotel***. During their stay in this magical town, passengers have the opportunity to visit the thermal baths that are 10 minutes away from our hotel. In the evening the guide will visit each one of you to give you the necessary information for our visit to Machu Picchu.

DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO

This day we will start according to the entrance schedule to Machu Picchu, we will always try to get the first groups (6, 7, or 8 am) but this will depend on the anticipation with which you make the reservation. Our day will start with a 25 minute tour by tourist bus to the wonder of the world. Once at the top we will pass the main control of Machu Picchu where it will be necessary to present your original passport. After this control will begin the guided tour through Machu Picchu for about two hours, then you will have free time to explore on your own. At the end you have to return by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes and from Aguas Calientes take the train back to Ollanta and from there transportation to your hotel in the city of Cusco.

The hotel included in the package price has a safe deposit where you can leave large backpacks and unnecessary equipment for the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu trek. For these two treks it will be necessary to carry a small backpack of 30 to 50 liters (if you do not have one Lorenzo Expeditions has equipment for rent in the city of Cusco, it is not necessary to book in advance). The items we recommend for the two days outside the city of Cusco are:

Entrance fees to Machu Picchu:

Entrance fees to Machu Picchu are included in all our services, whether they are packages, adventure tours, trekking, traditional tours. We take care of booking and confirming these tickets. It is very important to be sure of the availability of spaces before making the prepayment or payment of the service, tour or package. If you do not have a previous confirmation from us, your reservation will be cancelled and the money will be returned to your bank account. Remember that Machu Picchu tickets are issued in the name of each client and are non-transferable and non-refundable, this is a government regulation and not our company.

Documents for the trip

It is mandatory to have a valid passport (in some cases IDs also work, but preferably have a passport) to make a reservation for Machu Picchu, each ticket for Machu Picchu, Huayna Picchu or Inca Trail will carry your complete data which makes this ticket can only be used by you, in the different controls you will be asked for the physical ticket (which will be given to you at the beginning of the tour) and your original passport. As these are personal tickets, they are non-transferable and non-refundable. If you change your passport before the tour, it will be necessary to have both passports during the tour (old passport and new passport) in order to confirm your identity.

Availability of spaces

It is necessary to confirm through any of our channels the availability of income to Machu Picchu and train tickets before making any kind of transaction, many times the confirmations have a deadline (for example 48 hours from the time of sending that email or message) to be sure to get the spaces offered, if you do not make the prepayment at the time indicated can not confirm their participation and in that case the total of your money will be refunded.

Hotels during the trip

All hotels included in your package have private bathroom, hot water, WiFi and breakfast service. Travel insurance

How can I access Huaynapicchu or Machupicchu mountain?

To climb one of the two mountains, you must purchase the entrance ticket in advance. Huayna Picchu has an additional cost of 65 USD per person and it is recommended to book tickets at least 6 months in advance.
