This exclusive 2-day tour takes you to the rivers and lakes of the Amazon rainforest, exploring the rich biodiversity of Tambopata. On the first day, you’ll transfer to the Lorenzo Lodge, deep in the jungle, and begin fishing on the Madre de Dios River, known for its unique species. You’ll navigate through creeks and tributaries, enjoying an authentic fishing experience in the Amazon.
On the second day, you’ll explore the Tambopata River, famous for its aquatic diversity. You’ll fish for species such as piranha, piro, catfish, and sungaro, while enjoying the natural surroundings. Begin your fishing adventure in Tambopata, exploring rivers and streams
Your sport fishing experience in the Peruvian Amazon begins with a pickup at Padre Aldamiz Airport in Puerto Maldonado or at the bus terminal. From there, we’ll head to the port to board a riverboat, starting a fascinating 45-minute journey along the Madre de Dios River to our destination: Lorenzo Lodge, an eco-friendly retreat deep in the jungle.
From the moment we begin the boat ride, sport fishing on the Madre de Dios River begins. Along the way, we’ll make strategic stops at key locations known for their rich aquatic life. We’ll also explore creeks and tributaries—less accessible areas where elusive and challenging fish species can be found.
Throughout the day, you’ll experience the thrill of fishing in the Amazon, surrounded by the jungle’s stunning biodiversity. With every cast, you’ll have the chance to catch iconic species of the region while enjoying a spectacular natural setting.
At the end of the fishing day, we’ll arrive at Lorenzo Lodge, where you can relax and share stories about the day’s catch. Then you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner before resting in a comfortable private cabin, getting ready for another day of fishing in Tambopata.

We begin the second day of your sport fishing adventure in the Amazon with a delicious and nutritious breakfast at Lorenzo Lodge, surrounded by the lush jungle. After breakfast, we’ll head to the Tambopata River, one of the richest destinations in aquatic biodiversity in the region. This river is renowned for its abundant fish species, making fishing a fascinating activity for nature lovers.

We continue with a descent to the Hydroelectric Station, enjoying spectacular views of the jungle. On the way, we visit Intihuatana, an Inca archaeological site related to astronomy. Finally, we arrive in Aguas Calientes, where we prepare for the most awaited day. The journey culminates with a hike on the Short Inca Trail, starting at Chachabamba (2,250 m.a.s.l.) and ascending to Wiñaywayna, one of the most impressive archaeological sites on the trail. From the Sun Gate (Intipunku), we will have our first view of Machu Picchu, an unforgettable moment.
