Circuits and Visiting Routes
In the year 2021, five circuits were created for the tourist visit to the Inca city of Machu Picchu. However, through Ministerial Resolution 528-2023-MC, the Peruvian Ministry of Culture has made modifications to these circuits. As of June 1, 2024, three new circuits will be implemented that will include ten visiting routes in the Inca city of Machu Picchu.

The 03 circuits that group 10 routes of visit of the Inca city of Machupicchu
The three circuits that group the ten routes to visit the Inca city of Machu Picchu are the following:
- Circuit 1 (Panoramic) – Route 1-A: Machupicchu Mountain Route
- Circuit 1 (Panoramic) – Route 1-B: Upper Terrace Route
- Circuit 1 (Panoramic) – Route 1-C: Portada Intipunku Route (available only in High Season)
- Circuit 1 (Panoramic) – Route 1-D: Inka Bridge Route (available only in High Season)
- Circuit 2 (Classic Machupicchu) – Route 2-A: Designed Route
- Circuit 2 (Classic Machupicchu) – Route 2-B: Lower Terrace Route
- Circuit 3 (Machupicchu Royalty) – Route 3-A: Waynapicchu Mountain Route
- Circuit 3 (Machupicchu Royalty) – Route 3-B: Design Route
- Circuit 3 (Machupicchu Realeza) – Route 3-C: Great Cavern Route (available only in High Season)
- Circuit 3 (Machupicchu Royalty) – Route 3-D: Huchuypicchu Route (available only in High Season)
Capacity and entrance hours: Organize your visit in advance!
To ensure an optimal experience and protect the integrity of Machu Picchu, new regulations on capacity and entrance hours have been implemented.
Max. capacity:
- From June 1 to October 15, 2024 and from December 30 to December 31, 2024 (high season): 5,600 visitors per day.
- In low season: 4,500 visitors per day.
Entry hours:
- The entrance time to each circuit will be specified on your admission ticket.
- There will be a tolerance of 30 minutes for admission in low season and 45 minutes in high season.
- After this time, entry will not be allowed, except for duly justified reasons of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances.
